About
My name is Thomas Favrbo and I am a software developer living in Denmark. I have worked with software development since 2001 and currently work as a developer and software architect at a company implementing software solutions on the SharePoint platform.
Experience
My first experience was at a consulting company specialized in embedded software. We worked on a number of difference platforms and implementing mostly in C++. After a couple of years I switched to another company that had recently started work on a search product on the SharePoint 2003 platform. The product was called Ontolica for SharePoint and I up until the end of 2007 I had the pleasure of being part of the development team for both the 2003 and 2007 versions of Ontolica, lead by product manager Lars Fastrup. On the Ontolica product I worked as program manager with the main responsibility of the front-end development, but I also did other tasks including the design and implementation of the Ontolica product website. Unfortunatley the company went bankrupt and even though it was bought by another company, I felt that it was time to move on.
Work
In the beginning of 2008 I joined a company called Key2Know, specialised in knowledge management solutions on the SharePoint platform. Here I work as system architect and is responsible for designing and implementing solutions on the SharePoint 2007 platform, which also includes integration with the office client applications. During the past years i have gained a lot of experience in web development with ASP.NET and the SharePoint platform and also look forward to a lot of new SharePoint adventures in the future.
This blog
For a number of years now, I wanted to create my own blog to share my experience with SharePoint and software development in general and now it is finally here. From my early start on the SharePoint 2003 platform when documentation was hard to find, blogs by fellow developers have been my main source for knowledge and information. I hope that I with this blog will be able to contribute to the SharePoint community and that someone out there may find the information that I share useful.
Thanks for reading…
